CORTLANDT MANOR, N.Y. – Linda M. Hickey of Cortlandt Manor died May 3 at her home. She was 61.
Hickey was a nurse and office manager for a doctor’s office in Peekskill before she retired in 2005. Locally, Hickey was a member of the Christopher Columbus Society Ladies Auxiliary.
She was born Oct. 2, 1950 in Peekskill to James and Eleanor Lent Travis. Raised by her mother and stepfather, Martin Sarko, she graduated from Peekskill High School in 1968. On Sept. 28, 1968, she married James Hickey at St. Christopher's Church.
She is survived by her husband, James; a son, Edward, of Cortlandt Manor; two daughters, Jolene (Vincent "Boo") Vesce, of Peekskill, and Melissa (Derek) Kisslinger, of Cold Spring, N.Y.; three sisters, Barbara Small, of Glens Falls, N.Y., Elizabeth Valentine, Cape Coral, Fla., and Carol (Joseph) Wilson, Wappingers Falls, N.Y.; a brother, James Travis, of Peekskill; and six grandchildren. Shewas predeceased by a sister, Donna Conklin.
Visiting is from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday at Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at Assumption Church, followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery.
