PEEKSKILL , N.Y. - Dorothy E. Brown, a former Peekskill legal secretary, died Oct. 26 at her home. She was 86.
A Peekskill resident for most of her life, Brown once worked as a legal secretary for the Law Offices of Pines & Sterling there.
She was born on Jan. 22, 1925 in Illinois to Joseph and Anna Novak Sekel. In 1947, she married Millard F. Brown in Peekskill. Brown worked as a customer service representative at New York Bank for Savings in Jefferson Valley, N.Y. until her retirement in 1986 and spent the last five years living in LaGrange, N.Y.
Brown is survived by her husband Millard, her daughters Kathy Domini with husband Nino and Bonnie Libers with husband John, her sister Connie Fowler, her brother George Sekel, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Peekskill.
