Author To Talk Baseball In Peekskill Tonight

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- Westchester author Dennis Corcoran will be appearing at the Field Library Wednesday to discuss his recently released book, "Induction Day at Cooperstown: A History of The Baseball Hall Of Fame Ceremony."

Corcoran, a Pleasantville resident, has attended the ceremony just about every year since 2004. He recently told The Daily Pleasantville in an interview located here he was fascinated by the loyalty of fans in attendance at the annual affair.

“The thing that impressed me the most, that inspired me, were the fans,” Corcoran said. “Come Sunday when they have the actual induction ceremony, they’ll probably have at least 10,000 fans there. I met a gentleman who had come all the way from Oakland, by himself. People come to honor their heroes.”

Corcoran will be appearing at the library on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. Signed copies of his book will be available for $30.
