VALHALLA, N.Y. -- The burger, America's quintessential comfort food, can be dressed up (think Kobe beef, an expensive cheese, a housemade bun) or down (as in simple ketchup, maybe a pickle). Anyway you flip it, it's a winner.

Most Popular: The Crossing Burger (topped with thin, crispy onion strings, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and choice of Swiss, American, cheddar, or mozzarella cheese) followed by the California Burger with avocado and Monterey Jack cheese.

Secret "Sauce" Behind Burger's Flavor: Good quality ingredients, said Owner Stan Chelluck. (He runs the restaurant withi his wife, Louise.)  All burgers are hand-pressed certified Black Angus beef.  "It's a full 10 ounce burger grilled to perfection," said Chelluck.

Worth Special Mention: All burgers are served with french fries, onion rings, or a little bit of both. The Bar Stool Special includes a Monday to Thursday lunchtime deal of burger, beer and fries for $12.95.
