Offering both primary and urgent care, HRHCare offer treatment that ranges from small cuts and scrapes to more serious injuries. “Usually, urgent care centers are freestanding," said Dr. Asma Khan, an urgent care physician at HRHCare. "If you have an acute pain, you visit the urgent care, then follow up with a doctor at a separate site. But here, you can follow-up at the same location," she said. "Your records are in our computers and we can easily check in with you.”
HRHCare has deep Hudson Valley roots. Originally founded by four Peekskill women dubbed the “Founding Mothers,” the company now operates 28 locations in Hudson Valley and Long Island, with Nyack serving as the network's first urgent care facility.
Since opening last September, Khan says HRHCare has treated everything from sprains, strains and allergic reactions to rashes, abdominal pains and concussions. HRHCare can perform XRAY/radiology exams, tests for strep throat and urinary tract infections and run sugar and blood tests for diabetics.
While most urgent cares strive to offer efficient admission, the team at HRHCare prides itself on seeing most patients within 15 minutes of their arrival. “If possible, we like to get you out the door in under 40 minutes," said Khan. "I know the feeling of waiting in a lobby. This can be very stressful, especially if you have a laceration or if you have young children with you.”
In addition to serving adults and children of all ages, HRHCare has helped several students from Nyack College and people who have just moved to the area or who haven’t been able to set up their primary care doctors yet. HRHCare also has a friendly staff and accepts all types of insurance. "You can get comfortable with the front desk staff and even the building itself,” said Khan. "This can translate into more preventative and comprehensive care."
HRHCare is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. For more information, visit their website.
