The symbol has been shared more than 100,000 times since its original post on Facebook, according to the report.

The U.S Supreme Court heard arguments March 26 on the constitutionality of Proposition 8, a 2008 ballot proposal that banned same-sex marriage in California. On March 27, the court considered the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The law, enacted in 1996, denies same-sex couples benefits from the federal government, including those legally married in their home states.
