Peekskill's NY Firehouse Grille Is A DVlicious Finalist For 'Best Wings'

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- They’re messy, they’re spicy and they’re friggin addictive. It’s no wonder they’re often served by the dozen.

We asked Daily Voice readers for their favorite Westchester chicken wing spots and now have five finalists in the running.

Cast your ballot for the one you like best – then tell your friends. You can only vote once.

In the spirit of "winging it" (sorry, we couldn't resist the pun), each finalist is being profiled this week, with the contest ending 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23.

NY Firehouse Grille, 63 Welcher Ave, Peekskill, 914) 788-0808

Wing Choices: More than 50 flavors including garlic parmesan, wizard (cajun, teriyaki and honey mustard), ninja warrior (wasabi, honey mustard and teriyaki), and Wyatt Earp (hot BBQ ranch).

Most Popular Heat Level: Most people prefer the three-alarm hot wings though customers also tend to go for the eatery's two-alarm medium wings.

Good To Know: Firehouse Grille is family owned and has been in Peekskill since 1999. The current owners took it over in 2012. Monday nights and during football games, wings are 50 cents. Firefighters, police officers, emt/paramedics, teachers and active military personnel get 10 percent off their food.

Also worth knowing: The restaurant offers wings so hot, customers literally have to sign a waiver to eat them. Any customer who can eat 10 waiver wire wings without a napkin will get a T-shirt, a card and be on a slideshow on TV.
