The holiday, created to commemorate the 1862 victory of Mexican forces over the French army in the Battle of Puebla, has turned into an excuse to enjoy massive margaritas, along with those all important chips and guac. Still unsure of your plans? Head to the below venues for some fiesta fun.

The Beehive, Armonk: Get into a South of the Border frame of mind when you venture into the Beehive's annual Cindo de Mayo bash. Along with the festive atmopshere, you'll find a special menu featuring tacos, chimichangas quesadillas, fresh guacamole (served tableside) and fried ice cream, along with flavored margaritas and Mexican beer. Celebrate: 30 Old Rte. 22, (914) 765-0688, www.beehive-restaurant.com/.

Don Juan, Pleasantville: Drink specials galore (think five beers and four shots for $40 plus various tequila shot deals) help keep the Cindo de Mayo celebrations in a merry mood. Celebrate: 2 Broadway, (914) 495-3640.

Guadalajara, Briarcliff Manor: Pick your passion: Cucumber margaritas, jalapeno margaritas, mango, melon and more. Rueben's, Peekskill: It's not enough that Rueben's throws a huge Cinco de Mayo family-friendly bash the weekend before the event. The day itself is designed for celebrating with a mariachi band at 5 p.m. and a host of drink and food specials. Celebrate: 5 North Division St., (914) 739-4330, www.rubensmexicancafe.com/.

Truck Bedford: Truck is known for its "Power Wagon Margarita" along with other creative cocktails including the super-local "Bedford," making a toast to Cindo de Mayo almost a no-brainer. Winston, Mount Kisco: The Cinco de Mayo celebration starts at 6 p.m. (to 8 p.m.) with a special menu including housemade tacos, several variations of handmade guacamole, and plenty of chips and salsa fresca. There will also be a specially-priced tequila flight of Casamigos tequila—Silver (unaged), Reposado (“rested”) and Anejo (“aged”).
