We asked for your top picks for our DVlicious "Best Soup in Westchester County" contest and whittled it down to five finalists. Each is being profiled this week with the winner selected Monday, Feb. 22. Here’s a “bowl-ful” rundown on one of them.

Ladle of Love, 11B S Moger Ave, Mount Kisco, (914) 242-9661

Number of Soups Offered: More than 100 soups and stews are rotated. Soups are seasonally driven and locally sourced (i.e., Amba Farms in Bedford Hills and Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown).

Worth Dishing About: Ladle of Love, which opened 12 years ago, was the first locally sourced take-out shop in Westchester specializing in soup. Says Owner Leslie Lampert, who has since expanded her "Love" empire: "We take local ingredients on a global adventure, paying homage to myriad cuisines from around the world." Among the shop's top-sellers: Harvest Celebration, Chicken Dumpling, Cauliflower with Truffle Oil Soup, Beef Bourguignon, and Moroccan Lamb Stew.

Lampert also takes her participation in the community very seriously, and to that end, supports local town and county efforts each month, practices green business and offers assistance to families in need of supplemental food.
