What's Happening This Weekend In Peekskill

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- It's the biggest weekend of the year at the Paramount with Foreigner performing at the Red Carpet Gala, but there are plenty of other things going on across the Peekskill.

Friday. Sept. 14

  • AD2: 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is $10. BeanRunner Cafe, 201 S. Division St. 
  • The Geoff Hartwell Band: 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The band opened for Gregg Allman at the Paramount last summer. Hartwell often performs with rock performers such as Sonny Landreth, Tab Benoit and John Hammon. Admission is a $5 entertainment fee for all, including diners. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St.
  • Deuces Child: 6 to 9 p.m. The local duo will perform a free live set for patrons in the outdoor beer garden. Birdsall House, 970 Main St.

Saturday, Sept. 15

  • Peekskill Girls Varsity Soccer: 11 a.m. The varsity girls will take on Hendrick Hudson at Torpy Field.
  • Peekskill Varsity Football: 1:30 p.m. The varsity boys will take on Hackley in Depew Park.
  • Kenny Lee & the All Stars: 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. An evening of jazz featuring Kenny Lee on Trumpet/Flugelhorn/Sax; Les Kurtz on Piano; Mark Hagan on bass and Wayne Henderson on Drums & Cymbals. Admission is $10. BeanRunner Cafe, 201 S. Division St.
  • The Ninth Annual Paramount Red Carpet Gala featuring Foreigner: 8 p.m. With a catalog of multi-platinum gems including "Cold As Ice," "Juke Box Hero," "I Want To Know What Love Is" and critically-acclaimed wonders from the 2009 "Can't Slow Down" album, Foreigner is a band continually forging new musical peaks. 12 Grapes will host the pre-concert dinner and post-concert festivities. Tickets start at $95. The Paramount Center for the Arts, Brown Street.
  • Shanna Sharp: 3 to 6 p.m. The area artist will perform a free live set for patrons in the outdoor beer garden. Birdsall House, 907 Main St.

Sunday, Sept. 16

  • Kids' Open Mic Night: 6 to 8 p.m. Bring your guitar, bass, sax, flute or whatever instrument you play. 12 Grapes has a drum kit, keyboard, guitar and bass amps and microphones. Sign-up begins at 5:30 p.m. Kids under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. A special $10 burger menu will also be available. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St. 
  • Bluegrass Jam hosted by Trevor Hochman: 7 p.m. The jam will be held in the outdoor beer garden. Birdsall House, 907 Main St.
