PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- It's a busy week across the city with meetings, memorials, live music and more.

Monday, Sept. 10

  • Peekskill Committee of the Whole Meeting: 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be in the Paul Schwerman Conference Room in Peekskill City Hall. Peekskill City Hall, 840 Main St.
  • Peekskill Common Council Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be in the upstairs Common Council chamber. Peekskill City Hall, 840 Main St.

Tuesday, Sept. 11

  • Page Turners Book Club: 4:30 p.m. A book club for teens. Field Library, 4 Nelson Ave.
  • Peekskill Board of Education Executive Session: 5:30 p.m. The meeting will not be open to the public. PCSD Administration Center, 1031 Elm St.
  • Peekskill Sept. 11 Memorial Service: 6-7:30 p.m. The Peekskill Fire Department will conduct a memorial service recognizing the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Riverfront Green Park.
  • Peekskill Planning Commission Meeting: 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be in the upstairs Common Council chamber. Peekskill City Hall, 840 Main St.

Wednesday, Sept. 12

  • Junior Gardeners Club: 6 p.m. Gardening activities for children ages 6 and up. Sign-up is required. Field Library, 4 Nelson Ave.

Thursday, Sept. 13

  • 12 Grapes Open Mic Night: 8:30-11:30 p.m. All artists are invited to take the stage. The venue has a full back line and drum kit, so bring your guitar, bass or sticks, and don't forget to bring your friends. Come for dinner and enjoy the $19 two-course weekday dinner deal from 5:30-8 p.m. Admission is free. Sign-up begins around 8 p.m. 12 N. Division St.
  • Drew Bordeaux: 10 p.m. The local musician will perform a free live set for patrons at 10 p.m. Birdsall House, 970 Main St.

Friday. Sept. 14

  • AD2: 7:30-10:30 p.m. Art Hightower, founder of A2D, is deeply called by the drums, and has performed with Chuck Mangione, Doc Severinsen and more. Admission is $10. BeanRunner Cafe, 201 S. Division St.
  • The Geoff Hartwell Band: 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The band opened for Gregg Allman at the Paramount last summer. Hartwell often performs with rock performers such as Sonny Landreth, Tab Benoit and John Hammon. Admission is a $5 entertainment fee for all, including diners. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St.
  • Deuces Child: 6-9 p.m. The local duo will perform a free live set for patrons in the outdoor beer garden. Birdsall House, 970 Main St.
