PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The school year is coming to an end but that's not all that's happening in the city this week.

Monday, June 18

  • Junior Critics Book Club at Field Library: 4:30 p.m. A book club for fifth- through seventh-graders or other interested readers. 4 Nelson Ave. (914) 737-1212
  • Peekskill Common Council Committee of the Whole meeting: 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Paul Schwerman Conference Room and is open to the public. City Hall is at 840 Main St.

Tuesday, June 19

  • Check it Out Book Club at Field Library: 4:30 p.m. A book club for third- and fourth-graders (or other interested readers).
  • Peekskill City School District Board of Education Meeting/ Public Hearing on Code of Conduct:  7 p.m. The public session and hearing will start following an executive session. The administrative center is at 1031 Elm St.

Wednesday, June 20

  • Peekskill High School Senior Awards: 7 p.m. The awards ceremony will be held at The Paramount Center for the Arts. 1008 Brown St.

Thursday, June 21

  • Peekskill City School District Early Dismissal: Students in kindergarten through eighth-grade will be dismissed early from school. Parents will be informed of dismissal times in advance.
  • School's out Celebration at Field Library: 6:30 p.m. A free show, book reading and treats for children.   

Friday, June 22

  • Peekskill City School District Early Dismissal: Students in kindergarten through eighth-grade will be dismissed early from school. Parents will be informed of dismissal times in advance.
