PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- School may be out but there still are plenty of things going on around the city:

Monday, June 25

  • Peekskill Common Council Committee of the Whole meeting : 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be in the Paul Schwerman Conference Room and is open to the public. City Hall is at 840 Main St.
  • Book-o-Rama Time at Field Library: 2-3 p.m. Story time for ages 4-8. Sign-up is required. The Field Library is at 4 Nelson Ave.
  • Peekskill Common Council Meeting : 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be in the Common Council chambers at Peekskill City Hall.

Tuesday, June 26

  • Book-o-Rama Time at Field Library: 2-3 p.m. Story time for ages 4-8. Sign-up is required.The Field Library is at 4 Nelson Ave.
  • Tee Shirt Painting at Field Library : 11:30 a.m. Children can stop by for a fun art project. The Field Library is at 4 Nelson Ave.

Wednesday, June 27

  • Book-o-Rama Time at Field Library: 2-3 p.m. Story time for ages 4-8. Sign-up is required. The Field Library is at 4 Nelson Ave.
  • Peekskill City School District Board of Education Meeting : 6 p.m. The public session will start at 6 p.m. with an executive session planned immediately afterwards at 6:10 p.m. The administrative center is at 1031 Elm St.

Thursday, June,28

  • Sessions with JP Patrick at 12 Grapes : 8:30-11 p.m. On the fourth Thursday of each month, join sax player and vocalist JP Patrick and his band as they rehearse, work and play for each other and you. The sessions give audience members an up-close-and personal view of what it takes to put together a live performance. Free.
  • Drew Bordeaux at Birdsall House: 10 p.m. The local musician will perform a free set for patrons. The Birdsall House is at 970 Main St.

Friday, June 29

  • Summer Romance Wine Tasting Dinner with Natalie Forteza at 12 Grapes : 8 p.m. to midnight. Three-course Wine Tasting Dinner and two-hour music performance by Natalie Forteza, a pop/R&B singer. Dinner and music is $65 per person plus tax and gratuity. Music only is a $10 cover.
  • Aashish Kahn and the Ray Spiegel Indo-Jazz Ensemble at BeanRunner Café : 7:30-10:30 p.m. Aashish Khan, one of India's greatest living Sarode players, will join Ray Spiegel’s Indo-jazz Ensemble for a very special show. Admission is $10.
