What To Do In Peekskill This Weekend

PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – Several events are going on in Peekskill for the big game on Sunday, but plenty of other things are happening as well:

It's Take Your Child to the Library Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Peekskill. All children who stop by the Field Library will get a free book.

Friday, Feb. 1

Tony Leon and his Groupo Son Latino: 7:30 p.m. Tony has performed in concerts with Willie Chirino, Ray Baretto, David Valentino, Cachao, Hansel y Raul, Tito Puente and Johnny Pacheco. He continues to delight audiences with his unique voice and mastery of the bolero. Admission is $10. BeanRunner Café, 201 S. Division St.

Saturday, Feb. 2

Take Your Child to the Library Day: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be a family story and a quilt-making project starting at noon, and all children who stop by will get a free book. Field Library, 4 Nelson Ave.

James Cammack Quartet: For the past 28 years, James Cammack has performed continuously with legendary pianist Ahmad Jamal and has toured or recorded with singer Nancy Wilson, tubist Howard Johnson and singer Vanessa Rubin. Admission is $10. BeanRunner Café, 201 S. Division St.

Awesome '80s Party: 9 p.m. Grab your Ray-Bans, leg warmers, headbands, off-the-shoulder T-shirt and big hair and get down to the hits of the 1980s. Gleason’s, 911 South St.

Crossroads Band: 9 p.m. The band will perform a free live set for patrons. The Harbor at Charles Point, 5 John Walsh Blvd.

Rich Kelly and the New Fiction: 9:30 p.m. The band will perform modern and classic rock tunes from U2, Coldplay, Tom Petty and The Who. Admission is a $5 entertainment fee for all, including diners. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St.

Sunday, Feb. 3

Birdsall House Super Bowl Party: Watch the game on one of several big screens. Chef March Walker will be cooking up wings, and there will be a $3 pint special. 970 Main St.

NY Firehouse Grille Super Bowl Party: The game will be on 12 large flat-screen TVs, and there will be a large selection of draft and bottled beer and more than 40 wing flavors. For the dedicated wing lovers, there will be a free wing buffet at halftime, Bud and Bud Light pitcher specials and free giveaways. The usual NFL Sunday specials for sliders, hot dogs, samplers, pig skins and Irish nachos will also be offered. An exclusive takeout menu also is being offered. 50 Welcher Ave.

Peekskill Brewery Super Bowl Party: A special Super Bowl Sunday Happy Hour will begin at 6 p.m. with drink specials. 47 S. Water St.
