Friday, Oct. 19

LA & the Hit Squad: 7:30 p.m. LA has performed with the Intruders as well as on many Motown revues. He is currently the bass/baritone singer and co-founder of "Tradition," a classic soul cover singing group. He has been a radio personality on his own "Quite Storm" show on 91.1 WOSS in New York and has been seen in commercials and on documentaries for public and commercial television. Admission is $10. An evening of Swing, Stride & Boogie Woogie Piano: 9 p.m. Five outstanding keyboardists, Scott Staton, Dave Keyes, Jon Cobert, Chase Garrett and Loren Korevec, will take the stage tonight in a piano showcase and concert. This one-night-only event will recapture the early American art form of the swing, stride and boogie-woogie style of piano playing. Admission is $12 for the show or $6 for dinner  and show. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St.

Saturday, Oct. 20

New York Firehouse Grill Grand Reopening: 12:30 p.m. There will be raffles, giveaways, specials, and more are on the agenda to officially welcome old and new customers for good times and great dining. 50 Welcher Ave.

The Gil Paris Band: 9 p.m. Grammy-nominated guitarist Gil Parris's style of playing transcends all genres. He has recorded and toured both as a solo artist and sideman with major artists such as Dr. John, Blood, Sweat and Tears, Diane Schuur, David Mann, Billy Vera, Bobby Caldwell and Toni Braxton. Admission is a $10 entertainment fee or $5 with dinner entree. 12 Grapes, 12 N. Division St.

Birdsall House Octoberfest Saturday: 2 to 8 p.m. A day of free live music for patrons featuring Shanna Sharp from 2 to 8 p.m. and The Flynns from 5 to 8 p.m. Birdsall House, 970 Main St.

Sunday, Oct. 21

BeanRunner Poetry Series: 3 to 5 p.m. Area poets Richard Levine, Bertha Rogers, Nicholas Johnson will read selections from their books, which will be available for signing and purchase after the read. Bean Runner Cafe, 201 South Division St.
