NORWALK, Conn. George William Acker of Norwalk died June 16 at Norwalk Hospital. He was 91.
Born Dec. 18, 1920, in Darien, he was the son of George Frederick and Signe Ericson Acker. He served with the U.S. Army Air Forces during World War II. Acker was vice president of Commerce Packaging Corp. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Norwalk.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Borgen Acker, of Norwalk; a daughter, Cheryl Acker, of Fairfield; a sister, Jane Pirnat, of Brewster, Mass.; and a granddaughter.
Visitation is from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Norwalk. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be at Long Ridge Cemetery in Stamford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity. Edward Lawrence Funeral Home in Darien is handling arrangements.
