The show will run through July 31.

Brody creates archetypal female forms that reflect particularly figurative experiences. In "Musings," the works take a personal turn as the forms become specific.

“The figures explore some of the changes in the past 10 years as I became a grandmother again and as my body and body image change. Book pages, torsos, incised words on figures in stoneware with oxides are the musings on the state of being a woman of a certain age. Internal references to nature have changed as well from tree forest images as the figures now reflect classical fertility goddesses, incorporating bird features and frog imagery," Brody explained.

Brody holds degrees from Reed College and the Portland (Ore.) Museum Art School. In the 1980s, she lived in Israel, where she built her own gas-fired kiln. Upon returning to the United Staes and Peekskill, she became active in the emerging Peekskill art scene, and in 2000, she participated in an exchange with Network Nishijin and went to study in Kyoto, Japan.

Brody shows regularly at Ceres Gallery N.Y.C, and has exhibited at the Arts Exchange in White Plains. She participates in the Farm Project in Garrison, the Highland Falls Sculpture Walk, the Art of the Pumpkin, the Affordable Art Fair and the Fountain Art Fair.

She was in two Peekskill projects sponsored by the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art and participates annually in Peekskill Open Studios. Brody's studio is at the Hat Factory in Peekskill.
