PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – The Peekskill Arts Alliance announced that the 18th annual Peekskill Open Studios event will take place during the weekend of June 6 and 7 from 12 to 5 p.m., both days.
The annual free event is a way for local residents to browse through artists' work and their work spaces, as this year will feature 21 venues and over 20 artist studios.
One of the newest additions is at 901 South St. A former library and church, the building is now home to six local artists, including Open Studios event founder Larry D'Amico.
The hub of event activity will be at 1008 Main St., the Flatz Properties building. The property has three floors dedicated to exhibition during Open Studios weekend, and artist Christopher Rigney will be at street level to paint portraits.
Anyone interested in transportation for tours can meet at the Gazebo on Central and North Division Street, where the GoPeekskill van will drive people around the area. Other stops include the train station, Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art on 1701 Main St. and the Hat Factory on 1000 N. Division St.
