Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, a new Irish stepdancing show, "Rhythm in the Night: An Irish Stepdancing Spectacular" will be premiering at Paramount Hudson Valley in Peekskill on Friday and on Saturday, March 15 at 8 p.m.

The tale of "Rhythm in the Night" is told through Irish dance with a world-class troupe of both male and female dancers.  "Rhythm in the Night" features an original soundtrack as good battles evil.

"Rhythm in the Night" was created by Justin Boros who previously danced in Michael Flatley's "Lord of the Dance."

"We're really excited," Boros said. "This show is very different from a normal Irish dance show. It's not a story about someone migrating from Ireland. We wanted to do something different."

Boros said the music is very orchestral.

"We wanted to bring in music that hasn't been done before," Boros said. "It sounds like a big symphony and you add that Celtic flair."

The story is about an evil sorceress who has the hero under her spell is controlling him, while his younger brother tries to rescue him. Boros compared the story to "Beauty and the Beast."

"It's a very exciting show, especially for kids," Boros said. "It's not your typical "Riverdance" show which people have seen over and over."

Boros said shows like "Riverdance" and "Lord of the Dance" inspired him, but he wanted to think outside the box and do something more innovative.

"People love Irish music," Boros said. "We wanted to know what we could do to make a unique and exciting show."

While the group has performed previews, Friday's show in Peekskill will be the first time the show is performed live. Boros said he hopes the audience enjoys the world premiere.

"I want them to be excited, empowered and inspired," Boros said. "It's like watching a movie. We want them to be able to connect with it."
