Pace University to Host #GivingTuesday Kickoff

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. - Pace University and and Nonprofit Westchester have announced their partnership to produce a multimedia campaign for #GivingTuesday that exclusively features Nonprofit Westchester members within the county.

Held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, #GivingTuesday was created in 2012 and is celebrated the day after Black Monday, the busiest retail day of the year. #GivingTuesday, engages more than 10,000 partners in a global day of giving and has been honored with a Cannes Lion at the International Festival of Creativity; the PRWeek Global Award for Nonprofit Campaign of the Year; and the inaugural UJA-Federation Riklis Prize in Agency Entrepreneurship. This year's #GivingTuesday will be held on December 1, 2105.

Keynote speaker Henry Timms, the founder of the #GivingTuesday global giving initiative plans on sharing tips about how to organize a successful #GivingTuesday campaigns.Timms is executive director of 92nd Street Y, which receives more than 300,000 visitors annually, and millions more participate in 92Y's digital and online initiatives. 

The kickoff will be held at the Kessel Student Center, Entrance Gate 2 on Pace University's Pleasentville campus from 8am to 10:30am on Tuesday, June 16.

This marks NWP's second year launching a county-wide giving campaign, and the first year it has partnered with Pace University.
