Bethesda Woman Arrested For Robbery, Assault On Metro Bus In Montgomery County, Police Say

A woman arrested for a robbery and assault on a metro bus in Maryland fought with officers taking her into custody, police said.

Crystal McArthur, 37, is accused of assaulting a woman and stealing her phone “for no apparent reason” while riding a Metro bus near the 7600 block of Wisconsin Ave. in Gaithersburg around 9:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, according to Montgomery County Police.

McArthur, of Bethesda, then got off the bus and walked away toward Old Georgetown Road, while the victim was taken to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

She also assaulted two officers during her arrest near Old Georgetown and Edgemoor Roads, causing minor injuries, police said.

She was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and charged with robbery, theft, and multiple counts of assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. She is being held without bond.
