563 Folds Heroin, Xanax, Oxycodone, $1646 Cash Seized In Atlantic City Stop: Police

A motor vehicle stop resulted in the arrest of a man for possession of a large quantity of drugs including heroin and driving while intoxicated, authorities said.

At approximately 1:31 a.m., on April 12, Atlantic City Police Officer Joseph Kelly Jr. conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 100 block of North Ohio Avenue after observing the vehicle driving in an erratic manner, police said on Saturday, April 16.

After the vehicle was stopped, it was also learned the registration to the vehicle was expired. The driver, Aki Bey, allegedly displayed signs of impairment and was arrested after he failed field sobriety tests that were conducted by Officer Thomas Gilardi, police said.

A search during his arrest located 563 wax folds of suspected heroin and various pills that included Oxycodone and Xanax, police said. Bey was also in possession of $1,646 cash suspected to be proceeds of narcotics sales, police said.

Bey, 46, of Atlantic City was charged with DWI, driving an unregistered vehicle and multiple counts of drug offenses, police said.

Bey was being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
