“It will be an opportunity for people to recall their loved ones in community with others who have suffered loss,” said the Rev. Debra Slade, director of spiritual care at Norwalk Hospital.
The hospital’s chaplains will be available to offer support and care. The service will feature music by soloist Deacon Steve Pond, accompanied by Chaplain Carol Bauer and flutist Karen Prescott all of Norwalk Hospital.
With this service, Slade said, “We hope to provide support for those who grieve their loved ones and recognition of the time they spent at our hospital.”
Spiritual care involves helping people through life transitions with a “supportive” presence and an awareness of the sacred. The department of spiritual care includes members of many faith traditions who minister across religious boundaries with all people.
