PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- With the forecast calling for wintry precipitation late Sunday and into Monday morning, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Putnam County.
The advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Sunday until 10 a.m. Monday.
The forecast calls for snow, sleet and freezing rain overnight.
An accumulation of up to an inch of snow, along with a tenth of an inch of ice are possible by Monday morning, the weather service said.
Temperatures will fall into the low 30s overnight.
Slippery services on untreated walkways and roads could make travel hazardous. Drivers are urged to exercise caution.
The rest of the day Monday is predicted to be rainy with temperatures in the 40s.
