NORWALK, Conn. A woman walking down a Norwalk Street was attacked Saturday by her former boyfriend, who was jealous because she was with a new man, Norwalk Police say.
Lamos Rivera, 29, of 15 Knapp St., was arrested and charged with assault second degree, strangulation in the third degree, breach of peace second degree, police say. Bond was $15,000.
Police responding to the 7:50 p.m. call of a disturbance on Merritt Street found nothing, but later tracked down the victim at the basketball court behind the King Kennedy complex. She had blood on her hands, a chest wound and bruises on her neck.
She said she had been walking on Merrit Street, near the Open Door Shelter, with a man she was dating. Rivera was walking with another woman, but was upset and flew into what Sgt. Sal Calise called a "jealous rage." He broke a 40-ounce bottle and attacked her with it, police say.
She said he had been choked. Rivera denied choking her, and said she got the bruises from her new boyfriend, police say.
