Silver Spring resident Ronaldo Franzese has been identified as the person who was killed on Friday night after being involved in two crashes, including one that saw the driver speed away, according to police.

Shortly before 10:15 p.m. on Friday, April 5, first responders were called to the intersection of Randolph Road and Kimblewick Drive, where there was a reported hit-and-run involving two vehicles and a pedestrian.

The investigation determined that the driver of a white 2023 Honda Odyssey was traveling westbound on Randolph Road when, for unknown reasons, it mounted the curb and struck Franzese, causing him to fall into the roadway.

He was then struck by a white 4-door Acura, which fled the area without providing any aid to Franzese.

According to police, the hit-and-run driver is believed to have been driving a 2009-2012 Acura TL, which is missing a fender line and may have additional damage on the front end, near the ground.

The driver of the Acura was seen driving north on New Hampshire Avenue and then west on Randolph Road.

Anyone with information regarding the fatal hit-and-run or Acura has been asked to contact police at the Montgomery County Department of Police by calling detectives at (240) 773-6620.
