OSSINING, N.Y. -- Mary Cheever, Ossining resident and husband of noted literary figure John died in her home on Monday, April 7. She was 95, according to The New York Times.
Cheever was born Mary Winternitz in 1918 in New Haven, Conn. the daughter of two doctors. She met John Cheever in Manhattan and moved to Ossining in 1961, The New York Times said. Two of their children, Benjamin and Susan, are also writers
