Darien Arrests Another Magazine Salesman

Another magazine salesman was arrested in Darien on Thursday, May 19, for not having a permit. Michael Golden, 19, of Charlotte, N.C., was taken into custody after police received a call at 10:27 p.m. that he was going door-to-door on Tulip Tree Lane. They found him near the intersection of Tulip Tree Lane and Raymond Street and brought him in. He said that he was selling for a company called Entrepreneur Sales. Police said a representative of the employing company normally will post bond when salesmen are arrested, but that in this case Golden's supervisor was responding to a similar situation in another town. Golden was held overnight and brought to court in the morning, where he paid a $199 fine. Police said that it is not recommended for solicitors to sell after dark.
