RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Samuel's Sweet Shop in the village of Rhinebeck was already packed on Friday with visitors as employees worked to get ready for the upcoming busy holiday weekend.

Famous for being co-owned by actors Jeffrey Dean Morgan, best known for TV's "The Walking Dead," and Paul Rudd, their wives, and manager/owner John Traver, the shop has become a go-to spot to either stare at the displays of sparkling, luscious candies or hoping to catch a glimpse of the stars.

"We are so packed right now, I can't even talk," said Traver during a call on Friday.

According to the store's website, the couples purchased the store in December 2014, after the longtime owner, Ira Gutner, died of a heart attack.

Traver writes that he began working for Gutner as a 15-year-old after school and diligently worked my way up to store manager.

"Ira’s sudden passing in April 2014 left all of us in the community stunned and heartbroken," he said on the website.

Just when it appeared that Samuel’s might have to close, the stars, who loved the store, stepped forward and helped buy the place.

Since buying the store, Morgan has been plugging the sweet spot during TV talk show appearances, and even wore a Samuel's hat on an episode of "Talking Dead," reported NBCConnecticut.

But Morgan isn't the only one making the area home, his co-star Norman Reedus -- better known to many as Daryl Dixon on "The Walking Dead" -- will apparently be buying a home in the area as well, as previously reported by Daily Voice.
