City restaurants are offering prix fixe specials to fight the doldrums of winter with a $15 per person lunch prix fixe menu and a $25 per person dinner prix fixe menu.
“It’s been a rough winter,” said Birdsall House and Gleason’s owner John Sharpe. Sharpe is also the president of the Downtown Business Improvement District (BID), which is sponsoring the event. “There’s been some very bad weather and very cold temperatures that have directly hurt everybody’s business a little bit, so we threw something together to inspire people to come out.”
Six Peekskill restaurants are participating in the prix fix offer:
- 12 Grapes Music & Wine Bar, 12 N. Division Street, 914-737?6624
- Birdsall House, 970 Main Street, 914-930?1880
- Division Street Grill, 26 N. Division Street, 914- 739?6380
- Gleason's, 911 South Street, 914-402?1950
- Quiet Man Public House, 15 N. Division Street, 914-930?8230
- Ruben's Mexican Cafe, 5 N. Division Street, 914- 739?4330
In addition, diners who participate in the Downtown Peekskill Restaurant Week will receive special discounts at other participating businesses in downtown Peekskill.
“We’re trying to make it a full 'support Peekskill business week,' and not just a restaurant week,” Sharpe said. We’re trying to get as many people involve as possible in the BID. It was put together rather quickly so hopefully next year we can include all of Peekskill, not just the downtown.”
Several other participating Peekskill Restaurants will offer special discounts to restaurant week diners, including Kathleen's Tea Room, the BeanRunner Cafe, The Peekskill Coffee House, Arthur Weeks Jewelry, and Bruised Apple Books.
