PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Peekskill Trolley Company is kicking off its holiday lights tour on Dec. 14 and is looking for festive homes to show off.
Stella the Peekskill trolley will give a tour of decorated store fronts and homes. Those interested in making their house a stop on the Holiday Light Tour must call (914) 739-5408 prior to Dec. 13. Houses on dead end streets, narrow streets or other areas where Stella cannot maneuver easily will not be included in the tours.
At the start of the first Holiday Light Tour on Dec. 14 the trolley will stop at the house of last year’s winner of the “Best Dressed House” award, whose owners will receive the First Place Trophy.
The Holiday Light tours are the Saturdays of Dec. 14, 20 and 27, and the Sundays of Dec. 16 and 30. Thursday and Friday light tours begin at 7 p.m. (boarding starts at 6:45) and the Sunday tours begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and $6 for children 12 and under.
This year in addition to the Holiday Light Tours, there will be two Polar Express Adventures designed for children. The two Polar Express Adventures are on Dec. 15 and 23, and depart at 6:30 p.m. Polar Express Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children.
All tours board in front of the Bean Runner Café at 210 S. Division St. or the Gazebo at the intersection of Division Street and Park Street. Folks will be informed of the boarding location when they make their reservations. All tours conclude with hot chocolate (or eggnog) at the Bean Runner Café.
