PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – A number of Peekskill’s restaurants and businesses will be featured on the small screen this weekend on "Toni On New York."

The food-centric regional TV show will air a special on Peekskill at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on WLNY and at 4:30 a.m. Sunday on CBS-New York. The show, hosted by Toni Senecal, spotlights New York’s “offbeat and unusual locations,” according to the show’s website.

In this weekend's episode, Senecal covers Gleason’s, Birdsall House, The Quiet Man Public House, Peekskill Brewery, Beale Street Barbershop, Treat Station and other local restaurants and businesses.

Senecal says on the show that Gleason’s is one of her favorite places to go in the Hudson Valley.

“Everyone at the station was raving about the beet burgers, even more so than the chocolate bourbon cheesecake we brought in,” Senecal told Gleason’s in an email. “Now that's hard to beat. (It) worked out great.”

The feeling was mutual for Gleason’s owner and manager John Sharp, who also serves at the president of the Downtown Business Improvement District.

“Toni does an excellent job highlighting everything that is hip and cool in the metro area,” Sharp said. “The fact that Toni has done a show on Peekskill just further displays that Peekskill is a premiere destination to live, play and work.”

Enticing profile of Peekskill. More than enough to consider early Spring long weekend getaway.
