Hundreds Of IBM Firings Affect Westchester County

ARMONK, N.Y. – IBM fired hundreds of employees in Westchester County on Wednesday as part of the company’s $1 billion restructuring.

The computer company, based out of Armonk, is slashing its workforce and fired workers at all levels, from entry-level employees to high-ranking executives, according to an article in Newsday.

Ned McCormack, spokesman for Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino, told the paper that Westchester County had not received an exact number of fired workers. But the cuts did affect those at IBM offices in Armonk and Somers.
