PEEKSKILL, N.Y. – After several months of preparation, Gleason's, Peekskill’s newest dining establishment, is open for business.
The South Street eatery opened its doors at 5 p.m. Tuesday as staff put the final touches in place.
"We are technically open Tuesdays through Saturdays right now," said manager Halle Chizmadia.
The menu, which is included in the photo gallery above, is made up of simple dishes made from local ingredients, just like its sister venue down the road, Birdsall House.
"We have flatbread pizzas, some pasta, some salads, soups – pretty simple and all from sources from local farms like the Birdsall House," Chizmadia said.
Chizmadia said Gleason’s has the same chef, March Walker, same owner, John Sharpe, and managers.
Gleason's will hold its official grand opening on Friday, Aug. 31 at a time yet to be determined.
Gleason's is located at 911 South St. in Peekskill. Call (914) 402-1950 for more information.
